11.17.25 Don't Live In The Past

I recently received an email from one of my mentors that really struck a chord in me. I just had to share the message with you.
He told of a memory from high school, when he was a bit of a “handful” and his football coach grew to dislike him.
Fast forward to a few years ago (about 30 years later), after he had gone through years of personal growth and felt bad about how he had acted.
He was in a golf league and saw this former coach's name on the roster. So he waited outside in the parking lot for him (not to beat him up lol!) to apologize for how he behaved and to let him know he cleaned up his life and is now a successful business owner.
Much to his surprise, his coach had NO recollection of any of the situations my mentor remembered. Worse yet, he didn’t even remember who he was!!🥴
I know what you're thinking...
Julie, what’s the JOY in all of this???
The JOY is giving yourself permission to not re-live the past over and over. Let go of any guilt or regrets. And to remember that most people have already forgotten and moved on from it. They have bigger things to focus on in their lives!
Let’s JOLT it out!!

⚡️[JJJ] Julie's Joyful JOLT⚡️
I must let it go
I can’t keep ruminating about it
It seems to keep going through my head
I play it over and over
I’ll tell anyone and everyone who will listen
It still stings
I can still hear those hurtful words
I have to stop playing that broken recording
I have to move on as they most likely have
Breathing…
Taking a few deep breaths
Ok I’m calming down
I know what to do
Change my focus
Change my focus to something more joyful
Do something that takes my mind off it
Go outside and take a Joy Break
Play some upbeat music
Listen to a positive podcast
Breathe again
Take a few deep breaths
Ok I feel better now
I do feel better
I am feeling better
BAM! That is how it is done!
Acknowledge your feelings. Then start to think differently. Change the energy. Change the situation. Change your future!
I’m here to support in any way I can~ reply back so I know you’re reading these! Means a lot to me!
Joyfully,
